The exciting plans for a new primary healthcare centre in Darnall will be unveiled on Thursday.
The proposed new premises, which will be located on Main Road, Darnall, will replace the existing Darnall Community Health services in Darnall Road and York Road which have outgrown their premises as patient list sizes have grown and look forward to a new home.
The planned state-of-the art facility will allowNHSSheffield and the staff from Darnall Community Health service to continue to deliver a high quality service to the local community, but also enable them to develop these further from a bigger building, better access for the disabled and elderly and modern therapy and treatment facilities.
There will also be a large multipurpose space that can be used for meetings and group sessions looking at physical fitness, mental wellbeing and healthy lifestyle choices. These meeting rooms will also be available to local community groups.

“It’s part of NHS Sheffield’s vision to expand the range of healthcare services in Sheffield and improve access to services for local communities and this new development will help us deliver this for local people.”
The development of the new medical centre is being led by NHSSheffield as part of the LIFT(Local Improvement Finance Trust) investment programme in Sheffield by NHSSheffield’s LIFTpartner, Community 1stSheffield.
This will deliver the most significant investment in primary healthcareand community facilities in recent years.
The local community are invited to come along and view the plans and images of the proposed new facility on display on Thursday 13th August from 9.30am to 12.30 pm and Friday 14th August from 9.30am- 12.30pm and 3.00pm-5.00pm, at Darnall Community Health Centre. People can also see the plans and give their views at Darnall Well Being on Clipstone Road between 10am and 12 noon on Thursday and Friday.
The Darnall team, NHSSheffield and Community 1st Sheffield are keen to hear views and opinions about this exciting development and representatives will be available to answer your questions at the two events so pleasepop along to have your say.

These proposals are expected to be submitted for planning mid August and, subject to the planning approval consent, it is anticipated that construction work will commence on the new premises in early 2010.
