Community 1st Sheffield believes strongly in utilising local labour wherever possible on our projects, in order to bring social and economic benefits to the local area. On the recent Flowers Health Centre project in Sheffield we worked closely with Mansell Construction to support local companies in the area and 78% of the supply chain was sourced from within 40 miles of the construction site. The total value of orders placed with these companies totalled £1.4m and 97% of the supply chain members used were small to medium enterprise companies.
The Flowers Health Centre opened to the public on 3rd December 2012 to replace the previous outdated Bluebell GP Surgery in High Wincobank. Commissioned by NHS Sheffield and delivered by Community 1st Sheffield, the health centre provides a range of medical services, including GP and nursing services, minor surgical procedures and community therapies, whilst also acting as a hub for the local community.
